Interview with Jonas and Bo in Cosmopolitan Korea, Dec. 2010 What was your first impression of Korea? As soon as we got off the plane, we got the impression that it’s a very modern, very futuristic kind of place. We were also shocked at how many people there were. In Denmark, even the airports are uncrowded, sluggish places… To be honest, we’re pretty unfamiliar with the Danish music scene. What’s it like to live a life as a musician in Denmark? Denmark has its own national radio broadcast. Because they’re not concerned with commericalism, they play a wide range of artists and genres. Even if it isn’t necessarily what’s popular, they recognize the music as pure art. So for the most part, we’re able to seek out music with originality. It’s something to be thankful for. You’ve been together for 16 years, and have probably run into a lot of things to fight about during that time. How do you resolve your conflicts? Generally, we use our fists… no, we’re kidding. We’re “soft” young men from Copenhagen, so we tend to solve our problems through dialogue. If there’s anything we want to say or have a problem with, we try to get it out in the open as early on as possible. Do you have any album recommendations? The Microphones’ The Glow Pt. 2.
